Activities -
NKGSB Sangh completed 88 glorious years towards community service on 10 November 2023.
Many of the Sangh’s activities are as under:
SAMAJ SEVA ASSISTANCE : Monthly Cash Assistance remittances on Quarterly basis in Advance to old community members, widows and dependent minors etc. Amount paid : Rs 31.71 lakhs to 48 families in 2023-24.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE : Reimbursement of medical expenses. Amount paid : Rs 10.82 lakhs to 20 persons in 2022-23.
MARRIAGE AND OTHER ASSISTANCE : Amount paid : Nil during the year.
VRIDDHA SEVA ASSISTANCE : Amount paid : Rs 14.63 lakhs in 2023-24. (Rs 14.17 lakhs under VSA to 18 persons and Rs 0.46 lakhs under medical assistance to 4 persons.)
SNEHA SAMMELAN : Annual get-together is arranged to -
- Confer Honorary membership of the Sangh.
- Felicitate Golden Wedding Anniversary Couples.
- Felicitate Senior Citizens above 75 years.
- Distribute prizes for the Sanskrit Recitation Competition.
- Distribute prizes to students under various categories for their academic achievements by the NKGSB Education Society.
MUKHAPATRIKA : Quarterly journal of the Sangh updating information about our Community members and general activities is published and distributed.
CENSUS FORMS : Compilation of forms according to area of residence and scrutiny of forms is done to get a concise information of our Community members. The process is ongoing.
SANSKRIT RECITATION COMPETITION : Young school children in two groups, contest in Sanskrit recitation competition, receiving various prizes. This is done yearly, to encourage study and promotion of Sanskrit language, under the auspices of H. H. Swamiji Gaud Padacharya Math, Kavlem.
HALDI-KUKMKUM FUNCTION : In Shravan and on Makar Sankrant, haldikumkum function is held by Sangh and Thane Manch.
ANNUAL PICNIC : As a yearly feature, Thane Manch organizes one day picnic to various resorts. Community members come together for these picnics in large numbers and enjoy. This helps the old to keep in touch with their acquaintances from community and the new to form community bonds.
KARWARI KHADYA MELAWA : It is arranged by Mumbai Manch every year and is attended by large number of community members to savour the delicacies of Karwari cuisine. Other stalls of arts and crafts by community members are also exhibited.
CULTURAL PROGRAMS : Mumbai Manch and Thane Manch organize cultural programs from time to time in order to encourage the hidden talent in community members.
SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS : Thane Manch holds seminars and workshops once a year on medical and social topics to enlighten the community members.
